The Perfect High School: Designed by Ajibola!

Hey everyone, it’s Ajibola Agbaje here! Let’s be real—school is such a big part of our lives, so why not make it more exciting and fun? I’ve spent way too much time daydreaming in class, thinking about what the perfect high school would look like. If I had the power to design one, here’s what I’d do to turn school into a place everyone would actually love to go to.

1. Nap Pods for Everyone

You know those moments when your brain feels like it’s on strike? Nap pods to the rescue! Picture this: futuristic little pods where you can take a quick power nap between classes. They’d have fluffy pillows, cozy blankets, and even soft music to help you relax. Teachers might even use them for break time when we stress them out!

2. Snack Stations in Every Class

We all know that food is equal to happiness. In my dream school, every classroom would have a snack station stocked with healthy options like fruits, granola bars, and smoothies. But let’s be real they would definitely be chocolate, chips, and, yes, boba(I have only taken it like twice but I am in love with it). Fridays would be “Build-Your-Own-Sundae Day.”(I hate ice-cream btw) Because why not?

3. The Ultimate Chill Zone

Forget boring benches in the hallway. My school would have a Chill Zone on every floor! Think bean bags, a gaming corner, a mini library, and even a quiet area for people who just want to relax. It’s the perfect space to hang out, recharge, or even cram before a test (oops).

4. Classes That Spark Creativity

Traditional subjects are great, but let’s spice things up! My perfect school would offer electives like:

  • “How to Become a YouTube Star”
  • “How to create your own website”
  • “Fashion Design Meets Tech”(wouldn’t this be so cool)
  • “Escape Room Math Challenges”(at least we still get to do math)😉

These classes wouldn’t just be fun—they’d actually help us build skills for the future while making school way more interesting.

5. A Rooftop Hangout Spot

Why should the roof go to waste? I’d turn it into a rooftop paradise with comfy chairs, Wi-Fi, and plants everywhere. During lunch, you could enjoy the view and hang out with friends. Imagine study sessions with the sunset in the background just imagine that🤩!

6. Friday Fun Days

Every Friday, we’d dedicate the last period to pure fun. Each week would have a different theme—karaoke competitions, talent shows, group challenges, or even mini field trips around the school. It’d be the perfect way to celebrate making it through the week. And also you can leave school by 12am but common with all this fun who would want to.

7. A Hallway of Inspiration

Every hallway would be decorated with motivational quotes, colorful art, and photos of students’ achievements. It’d be like walking through a gallery of creativity and positivity, giving you a little boost as you head to your next class. And the students get’s to pick the pictures.

8. Tech Everywhere

Technology would be a huge part of my dream school. Every student gets a tablet or laptop, and classrooms have interactive smart boards for learning. Need help with an assignment? There’s an app for that! Need a reminder about deadlines? Your school dashboard has you covered.

9. Teachers Who Get Us

In my perfect school, teachers would be fun, understanding, and open to hearing our ideas. They’d find cool ways to make learning exciting—like turning lessons into games or challenges. Oh, and there would be no homework on weekends because mental health matters!

10. A Personalized Learning Path

Every student learns differently, so why not create personalized learning paths? In my school, students could choose how they learn best—whether it’s group projects, hands-on activities, or online modules. This way, no one gets left behind, and everyone feels included.

My final thoughts of this school

Okay, I know some of these ideas might sound a bit ridiculous—like nap pods in the hallway or rooftop hangouts. But think about it: the world around us is evolving so fast. Technology, entertainment, even the way we communicate has changed so much over the years. So why hasn’t school caught up?

Education is such a big part of our lives, and it should evolve too. It doesn’t have to mean turning schools into amusement parks, but small changes—like more creative classes, better support for students, students learning the way they learn best or even a bit more fun—could make a huge difference.

At the end of the day, school should be a place where we not only learn, but also feel inspired, supported, and excited to show up every day. Because if we don’t enjoy school we are just being forced to do some things that don’t inspire us. Maybe we won’t see these changes tomorrow, but dreaming big is the first step toward making things better.

What do you think? Are my ideas too wild, or do you think schools should evolve like everything else? Let’s talk about it in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
